Community Guidelines
Standards for official Sauce communities and support spaces.
Version: 1.0.0
Status: Draft
Effective Date: [To be filled before public launch]
1. Welcome
Welcome to the official Sauce community. These Community Guidelines apply to official Sauce Discord servers, support spaces, community channels, events and other community areas operated by Sauce.
By participating, you agree to follow these Guidelines together with the Sauce Terms of Service, Discord Terms of Service and any channel-specific rules. The purpose of these Guidelines is to keep the community useful, safe and welcoming for members, contributors and staff.
2. Respect Others
Treat other members, contributors, moderators and staff with basic respect. Disagreement is allowed. Personal attacks, intimidation, humiliation, targeted hostility and deliberately disruptive behaviour are not.
Do not publish, request or distribute another person’s private or identifying information without their clear permission.
3. Keep Discussions Civil
Keep discussions relevant to the channel and address ideas rather than attacking people. Avoid excessive hostility, repeated provocation, inflammatory baiting, coordinated disruption and attempts to derail ordinary conversation.
Political, social or controversial topics may be restricted to designated channels or stopped by moderators when discussion becomes disruptive.
4. No Harassment or Hate Speech
Harassment, threats, stalking, sexual harassment, encouragement of violence and targeted abuse are prohibited.
Hate speech or dehumanising content directed at people based on protected characteristics, including race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation, is prohibited. Context such as criticism, education or reporting does not permit targeted abuse.
5. No Spam or Advertising
Do not flood channels, repeatedly post the same content, misuse mentions, send unsolicited direct messages, automate disruptive messages or otherwise interfere with normal use of the community.
Advertising, recruitment, referral links, commercial promotion and invitations to unrelated servers require prior staff approval unless a channel explicitly permits them.
6. Bug Reports & Feature Requests
Use the designated bug-report and feature-request channels or forms. Include clear reproduction steps, expected behaviour, actual behaviour, relevant screenshots or logs and the affected Sauce service or version.
Do not publicly share secrets, access tokens, personal data or exploit details that could place users or Sauce systems at risk. Duplicate, vague or abusive submissions may be closed without action.
7. Support Channels
Use support channels for genuine assistance with Sauce services. Provide enough information for staff to understand the issue and follow any troubleshooting instructions supplied.
Do not create repeated tickets for the same matter, demand immediate responses, impersonate staff or abuse volunteers and support personnel. Response times are not guaranteed.
8. Appeals & Moderation
Users may appeal moderation actions through the designated appeal process when one is available. Appeals must be honest, relevant and submitted by the affected user unless staff allows otherwise.
Do not harass moderators, mobilise other users, evade restrictions or open repeated appeals after a final decision. Evidence may be reviewed privately to protect users, staff and security processes.
9. Security & Responsible Disclosure
If you discover a vulnerability, exploit, exposed credential or other security issue, report it privately to support@sauceapp.net. Do not exploit the issue beyond what is reasonably necessary to verify it, access data belonging to others, disrupt services or publish technical details before Sauce has had a reasonable opportunity to investigate and address the matter.
Good-faith reports should describe the affected service, reproduction steps, potential impact and any evidence needed to validate the issue.
10. Staff Decisions
Staff may interpret and apply these Guidelines based on context, severity, history, risk and the needs of the community. Not every possible form of harmful or disruptive behaviour can be listed in advance.
Staff decisions may be changed after review. Being technically within the wording of a rule does not protect conduct that clearly defeats its purpose.
11. Enforcement
Violations may result in content removal, warnings, temporary restrictions, loss of access to specific channels or services, suspension, removal from the community or permanent bans.
Enforcement may occur without prior warning when necessary to protect users, staff, systems or evidence. Attempts to evade enforcement through alternate accounts, other servers or third parties may lead to additional action.
12. Changes to These Guidelines
Sauce may update these Guidelines to reflect changes in community operations, services, legal requirements or safety practices. The latest version will be published through official Sauce channels.
Continued participation after an updated version becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Guidelines where permitted by applicable law.
